Carriers implement GRIs on the transpacific - Spot rates from the Far East to the US rose by an average of USD 500 per FEU on 15 April as a group of carriers pushed General Rate Increases through. The announced GRIs ranged between USD 600 and 1 200 per FEU. This is the first big increase in spot rates on these trades since late 2021 and may well reflect a boost in carriers' confidence now that new long term rates for these trades have mostly been settled.
